Wait, there's also a footnote: "In certain circumstances a group of alicorns is also defined as 'OC drama'." That doesn't make any more sense.
Collective nouns are fun! Isn't the stuff you've just learned from this comic positively mind-boggling? But the wild ride doesn't need to end here. For more see: users.tinyonline.co.uk/gswithe… Unless you already knew all that, in which case ya'll didn't learn anythin'!
Taking a break from work, so I'm bringing this short bit. A little comment on the upcoming season. How will Equestria ever cope with its multitude of rulers? Let's tune in to find out.
Did I draw something differently? No, no, no-no-no-no, of course not! When have I ever done that? Look at my other comics - each one a spitting image of the next.
As revealed below we know what an "Oligarchy" is but better question: how do u even PRONOUNCE that? whats it sound like? cuz Its not coming out right in my head so I must have the wrong preset for saying it.
Since you welcome constructive criticism, here's some~ First of all, I like the comic. The joke is nice and you paced it well. A few people already mentioned the ears, which stood out to me es well. I see in your newer works that you've changed the style, however one issue remains - they pretty much look the same from every angle. Whether a pony looks straight at the viewer, is seen in a full or 3/4 profile, the ears' angle doesn't seem to change nearly as much as it should. For this comic in particular I have one other thing I'd like to mention. "Less is more" - in this case, the closeup of the book's title is fine as a side-gag but could have been left out without really lessening the comic's comedic effect. However, the whole little easteregg with Lyra in the background, instead of having a benificial effect on the comic itself, distracts the reader and makes them digress from the main story, which then ruins the pacing. It actually took me a few moments to really figure out what is happening; in my first reading the floating #1 hand in the 2nd panel made me go o_ô and distracted me from the main joke.
If you were to draw a wide angle view with lots of space visible, such little side stories can be entertaining. It's nice to thoroughly study each panel and find all the little references the artist put in. But in a short, quick joke comic like this, it does more harm than good.
No, I just wanted to find a way to exploit the char↔int conversion in many languages. I guess I was poking at oligarchies in general too. If we were talking about Equestria's unicorn oligarchy, then yes, just get rid of them. The alicorn n-archy (Seriously, how many more princesses do they need?) seem to know what they are doing for the most part, even if they need Twilight et al. to solve all their problems these days.
And now I feel a strong urge to run Equestria in Valgrind...
On the subject of n-archy, let's suppose the government is a function that takes R princesses as arguments and outputs a decision, then it would look like gov (p_1, p_2, ... p_R) Then it would be an R-arity function (ha ha ha)!
