I am so not telling you which game I’m referencing this time. But you can guess and win this Generic Treasure Chest of Unimaginable Treasures:
Lyra "Stonefist" Heartstrings earned her prowess as a warrior not so much by way of ambition, but by necessity. As a unicorn afflicted with uncanny wanderlust and an uncommon interest in encountering every known and still undiscovered breed of Equestrian creature, she needed to win many a fight for her life when faced with the fearsome beasts. Those bards and chroniclers who had the opportunity to inquire about her strange pursuits only heard her say “One of these days I will find them. I will have proof of their existence and then everypony will believe me when I say they are real!”
Boasting an unnerving accuracy record of 99.9% in the Royal Log of Rangers (which happens to be an actual log with writing carved in its surface), Derpy of the Sordid Crossroads has earned a well-deserved rank among Equestria’s finest marksmares. No other hero could match her hawk eyes, save for that one fateful day of a Royal Tournament when, suddenly distracted by the succulent muffins of a nearby baked goods vendor, she took a shot that missed its target by a furlong. Having devoured the vendor’s contents in righteous fury and believing that her honour was a high enough price to pay for the devious delicacies, Derpy devoted herself from that day on to seizing and destroying all the muffins in the land in the one, best way she knew of. She never allowed gluttony to become a legitimate argument in any discussions on the subject.
It was at a very early age that Mr. Wobbles the Impersonator discovered a keen talent for all disciplines magical (his strange name did it absolutely no justice in fact). He devoted his life to the studies of the occult, frequently and openly scoffing at his brother’s choice of the spiritual path. Graced with only slight dementia at the spry age of 150, he may include as his most notable achievements numerous awards for an unusually low rate of accidental Arch-Fiend summonings, annually granted by the Junior Mage’s Guild of Equestria.
As far as standards for blademasters go, Snowflake the Eloquent was alright. He barbarically performed all manner of barbaric barbarisms that befitted a proper barbarian. Well enough in fact that he was frequently the target of snide remarks made behind his back (for obvious reasons), such as the ones pertinent to his choice of weaponry – “He never stops compensating.”
Poor Sombra. I brought him back from the dead only for him to take an arrow to the tush and get chased by a mob of greedy heroes. Oh well. At least it wasn’t the knee. Wouldn’t it be so much easier for everypony if the magical land of Equestria actually had a proper magical army?
We need a vacation!
said that Lyra should absolutely have a hand on her shield and you don't go around disagreeing with berserkers. Just ask Snowflake!
Well, I guess this is the result of my combining Paint Tool SAI, Photoshop and Illustrator. I don’t know what to make of it really but as always, the judgement is up to you. I’ve been busy with pony stuff to appear outside of my dA (for now at least), hence my lack of serious uploads recently. I will still in fact be on a quest for a faster and more flexible drawing technique, so in case you like this, I can’t really guarantee I’ll maintain these, hmm… characteristics.
What’s even more interesting about this game is that the pantheon of its world includes two gods – one a patron of the sun, the other of the moon. They soon became bitter rivals and the resentment of the moon god drove him to corruption and rebellion for which he had to be banished. It was only after a long time that the god was rehabilitated and restored as an official deity of the realm.
EDIT: Fixed a really nasty typo. Thanks,
