Lawn Mowing Season by Gray--Day Lawn Mowing Season by Gray--Day
It's that time of the year when the grass starts growing and you bring out those roaring machines out of your garage. Are you excited for it?
AND YOU SHOULDN'T BE.
What a god-awful chore. I enjoy it about as much as Fluttershy here does. Try to ease up on that throttle, Shy-Shy. Truly, lawn owners know what Sisyphus feels like. Nice way to lose a huge chunk of your day every week on average.

If you don't own a lawn, don't you dare say it...

Incidentally, this work is also an example of an accessorized illustration with da works – a middle ground in my upcoming pony commissions.

...Wait a minute. She's an equine creature. Can't she just EAT the grass?

Fluttershy's predicament is the result of her own home choices. You don't have to mow clouds. :)

Next time she'll just ask a few goat friends over for snacks.

I have a neighbor who seems to turn mowing his lawn into a hobby. I swear, sometimes I think he cuts it twice in a single day, then he goes back and cuts it again the next day. Practically impossible to go outside without hearing a lawnmower blaring.

I had an electric lawnmower, so I always had to deal with extension cords as well as the fact that the motor was weak and would get jammed with grass if I went too fast, causing me to have to flip it over and pull out wads of grass clippings before I could get it to go again.

Why oh why are we forced to suffer these first world problems! :P I'm starting to wonder if it's the gas consumption that's worse or the power consumption coupled with constantly flinging the mower's cord out of its way.

Since I don't have garden or lawn or anything like that I had the honour of using the lawn mower only once. Goddamit was it frustrating :P

Needles to say You made an superb work once again ;) and there is never too much Fluttershy especially in dire situations like this :P

Three words 'Sit On Mower' :P

And how could Fluttershy use something like that, just think of all the little tiny creatures it might harm!

I actually like mowing the lawn when I had one. It was a pain in the ass, but it was also a nice workout.

You have freed yourself from the curse of the evergrowing grass! Though I must admit I'd be short on exercise without it.

I can't stand mowing the lawn, just as much as I can't stand doing yard-work in general. I don't mind housework, but yard-work, no thanks. I really like how you drew Shy-Shy's, love that nickname, mane and tail dragging behind her. That's one seriously fast push-mower.

Thanks! ^^ And same here – I'd happily clean the filthiest place inside the house if it meant not having to do yard work. I'm not sure where I heard Shy-Shy but it definitely was somewhere else. Than my noggin, that is.

What kind of a hellish place! D:

Actually, the snow might just level the playing field during winter here.

Loads upon loads of snow...

You know what I love? Pine trees. A plush carpet of grass is nice, but if I could trade our lawn for a bed of pine needles that never needed mowing, I would do it in an instant. Too bad it takes pine trees more than a few instants to reach maturity - quite a few more.

It sounds like a solution to me, but this is the wrong house for it. :P Everyone else living here would necessarily consider fallen pine needles to be litter rather than an alternative to grass. I already clear them. Buncha neat freaks... >_>

My friend's family has a cabin with pine needles instead of a lawn, but they still have to clean them all up because too many pine needles can be a fire hazard.

Hmm, I hadn't thought of that! We get enough rain where I live that most people don't seem to worry about fires, but I guess it could be a danger in some places

I...won't say it =X

My old family's house used to have one though, and keeping it mowed definitely sucked.  Great way to earn video game money doing it for neighbors though back in the day!  :D
