I wanted to save this as a way of documenting my progress. And since I insisted on doing something so drab, I figured I could throw in some entertainment for whoever is going see this. It's a first attempt at honestly going from sketch to ready vector.
I am so grateful to the wonderfully talented Lissy-Strata for providing her art tutorial. My result does not even compare, but at this moment I am 120% convinced that this is the way to achieve total independence when vectoring. That is, with a good bit of practice on various different poses (I still pretty much copied the one I saw in the tutorial). Do have a look at it and make sure she knows how awesome she is for making it.
My current bane are proportions, distances of individual pony parts and the proper shaping of legs, meaning everything that is crucial to drawing ponies properly. Time to get cracking...
in my case, i donīt do the sketch thing, i just do the pony with the pen and then just colored it, and the shades if i want, i'm not the one who likes to take so long in art, actually the last one take me like 15 minutes xD
Speed is actually something I'm hoping for as well. Time will tell if I manage that.
And that means you're really good with freehand drawing, which is awesome. Myself, not at all unfortunately, so it's best I don't skip vector tracing for now.
Im tired of needing bases!!
